Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026. If the English and French versions differ, the French version prevails.

This policy explains what personal data Anime Bankai collects, why, who receives it and how long we keep it. The controller is the publisher named in the legal notice, reachable at hello@animebankai.com.

1. What we collect

  • Your account: email, name and photo (from Google if you sign in with it), your handle and profile.
  • What you make: your prompts, the images and audio you import or use as references, your characters and voices, your creations, what you share, like and report.
  • Payments: your plan, its status and your Stripe customer reference. Card details stay with Stripe.
  • Support: what you send through the contact form (your email, the topic and your message) and, if you're signed in, your account.
  • Safety: the results of automatic moderation checks, and, for the free trial, a keyed hash of your IP address (never the address itself) and a random identifier stored on your browser.
  • Technical: the sign-in cookie and the logs our host keeps.

We don't use advertising or analytics trackers.

2. Why, and on what basis

  • Running your account, making your creations, billing your plan: performance of our contract with you.
  • Answering your support messages: performance of our contract if you're a user, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering you.
  • Moderation, preventing abuse of the free trial, keeping the service secure: our legitimate interest in a safe service.
  • Keeping invoices and accounting records: a legal obligation.

We don't sell your data, don't use it for advertising, and don't train AI models on it.

3. Who receives it

Only the providers we need, each for its part of the service and bound to use the data only for it:

  • Vercel: hosts the site; sees requests and technical logs
  • Cloudflare: stores your files, helps with moderation, protects the site
  • Google: sign-in with Google: gives us your name, email and photo
  • Stripe: payments and subscriptions: card, billing address, email
  • AI model providers: make, retouch and upscale images, make videos and voices, write video prompts (United States, Singapore)
  • Moderation services: check prompts, images and videos
  • Email provider: sends sign-in emails and passes contact form messages to our support inbox
  • Background processing: runs creations in the background

Several of them are outside the European Union, notably in the United States and Singapore. These transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

What you share on Explore or your profile is public: anyone can see it, including your handle and, unless you hide it, the prompt.

4. How long we keep it

  • Your account and creations: as long as your account exists. A creation you delete goes to the trash for 30 days, then its file is deleted; takes you didn't keep are deleted after 30 days.
  • After you ask us to delete your account: everything is deleted within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep and the moderation records needed to handle abuse, kept up to one year.
  • Invoices and accounting records: 10 years, as French law requires.
  • Free-trial checks: up to one year.
  • Support messages: as long as needed to answer, then up to 3 years after our last exchange.

5. Cookies

We use two cookies, both strictly necessary: one keeps you signed in, the other (a random identifier, kept one year) makes sure the free trial is given once per browser. Your browser also remembers some choices you make in the app (like the last settings in Create). None of this tracks you across sites, so no consent banner is needed.

6. Your rights

You can access your data, correct it, delete it, get a copy of it, object to or restrict its use. Write to hello@animebankai.com from your account's email; we answer within a month. If you think we don't respect your rights, you can complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr) or your country's data protection authority.

7. Age

Anime Bankai is for people aged 16 and over. If you think a younger child has an account, tell us and we'll delete it.

8. Changes

We'll update this policy when what we do changes, and tell you by email or on the site when the change matters.
