Close-ups at midnight in a small Tokyo apartment, a cluttered desk lit by the cold blue glow of a monitor and one small warm desk lamp. A young woman's slim hands, oversized grey hoodie sleeves pulled down to her knuckles, peel the clear plastic lid off a convenience-store bento: white rice, a golden fried chicken karaage, a slice of pink salmon. Chopsticks lift the glossy karaage, steam rising, the monitor's blue light on it. No faces. Sounds: plastic crinkling, rain. No one speaks.
